How to Use the Kit

Choose the appropriate item for the type of minor injury being treated and always follow the instructions printed on the individual product packaging. The first aid guide supplied with the kit can also be consulted for general basic first aid information.

For minor cuts and grazes, assess the injury first. If it is serious or bleeding is heavy, seek urgent professional medical assistance. Wash your hands where possible and use the supplied vinyl gloves when appropriate.

Control minor bleeding by applying gentle pressure with a sterile gauze pad or suitable dressing. Clean the area using an appropriate cleansing product according to its instructions. Select a suitable plaster, gauze pad or other dressing and secure it with first aid tape or a bandage if necessary, taking care not to wrap it excessively tightly.

Replace wet, dirty or damaged dressings and seek medical advice if symptoms worsen or infection is suspected.

Using Bandages

Place an appropriate sterile dressing over the affected area where required. Wrap the conforming or crepe bandage evenly around the area, using enough tension to secure the dressing without restricting circulation.

Periodically check for numbness, swelling, colour changes or increasing discomfort.

Using an Instant Cold Pack

Activate the pack according to the instructions on its packaging. Wrap it in a suitable cloth or protective layer and apply it to the affected area for short intervals.

Do not place the cold pack directly onto damaged skin unless the individual product instructions specifically permit it.

Using a Foil Emergency Blanket

Carefully remove and unfold the blanket. Wrap it around the person to help reduce body heat loss while keeping their face and airway uncovered.

Storage & Maintenance
